Welcome to the Christian County, Missouri, genealogy site.  Please read the instructions below for navigating this site. As the new Web master of this newly redesigned site, I'm sure that we may find that things don't work exactly right or email addresses no longer function.  Anything found on the old site should be here unless it was a link to a no-longer-available Web site.  Please feel free to send your comments, recommendations, and corrections  to Patti Hobbs.

Obituaries have been added up through the end of February 2012.

INSTRUCTIONS:

Everything available on this site is accessible through the links in the main menu above with the exception of the Historical Schools menu in the lower left of this page. All the other links at the bottom are off-site.  The Quick Links in the right column will get you to areas believed to be the most accessed without having to view another page first.  The Obituary and Cemetery pages will also be accessed frequently, but you can get to them directly by clicking on the links in the main menu.

SEARCHING:

Use the search box in the upper right corner of this Web page. In viewing the search results, there is likely more information that you can see in the search results page for CEMETERY listings, so it is recommended that you go to the cemetery listing through the alphabetized list accessed from the menu in the right and then browse through to find the entry for the person of interest once you know the cemetery from using the search function. There are additional lines that do not show up in the search results. I will be merging the additional lines, so that this will not be necessary at some point in the future. But it will take some time.  Each cemetery page also has its own search functionality on each cemetery's page. Be sure to check if there is an obituary noted in the cemetery listing.

UPCOMING:

An alphabetical listing of all persons buried in Christian County giving known details about their lives and burial location.

I also expect to blog occasionally using old newspaper articles of interest to people with Christian County roots.
