He was a salesman for Harvey Stereo in Springfield and a member of Zalma Masonic Lodge in Zalma.

Bonnie Elizabeth Daniels, 74, of Nixa, passed away Friday, February 15, 2008. She was born May 27, 1933, in Detroit, Michigan, the daughter of Harold and Marjorie (Molyneux) Hannah. On February 27, 1955, she and Roger Daniels were united in marriage. Mrs. Daniels worked as a substitute teacher in public schools. She enjoyed many hobbies, including stained glass, wood carving, crocheting and knitting, painting and baking ? especially black walnut and chocolate chip cookies. Mrs. Daniels loved horses and showed them in her younger years. Her children remember her having a speedy "lead foot" in the car while they were growing up. She was a member of Unity Church in Springfield. Survivors include: her four children, Roger Daniels and wife, Becky, Buffalo, Cindy Golden and husband, Scott, Ft. Collins, Colorado, Scott Daniels and wife, Cynthiann, Greeley, Colorado, and Chris Daniels, Nixa; five grandchildren, Herbie, Shane, Stacey, Cierra and Kyrrah; four great grandchildren, Karlin, Kinley, Jayleen and Kaitlyn; and her brother, Robert Hannah, Long Beach, California. She was preceded in death by her parents; and her husband. A memorial service will be held at 5 p.m. Sunday in Adams Funeral Home, Nixa. Visitation will be from 4 to 5 p.m. Sunday in the funeral home immediately before the service.

Mr. Daniels died Dec. 4 in the Christian County Nursing Home. He was a retired carpenter and construction worker. He was a member of the Calvary Baptist Church and an Army veteran of World War I. Emma Ella Daniels, 90, Ozark, died at 2:15 p.m. Monday, Nov. 29, 1993 in Ozark Nursing and Care Center after a long illness. She was born July 19, 1903, the daughter of Clarence C. and Charity Wheeler Hannah. She lived throughout her life in the Ozark area. She was a homemaker and a member of the Selmore Baptist Church. She was united in marriage on Feb. 13, 1926 to Charles F. Daniels, and to this union was born one son. She was preceded in death by her husband, Charles Dec. 4, 1979, three sisters, Lola and Lillie Bilyeu, and Helen Gibson; two brothers, Clell and Hugh Hannah. Survivors include one son, the Rev. Robert Daniels, and wife, Annabell, Ozark; one grandson, John Daniels, Ozark; a sister, Edna Shelton, Ozark; two brothers, Herbert and Alvin Hannah, both of Ozark; and a host of nieces, nephews, and friends. Services were held 2 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 2, in the Harris, a Heritage Funeral Home, Ozark, with the Rev. Elmer McCully officiating. Burial was in the Ozark Cemetery. Herbert Daniels was born on Dec. 3, 1911, and departed this life on Sept. 9, 1933, aged 21 years, 9 months and 6 days. He was married to Ella Kirby on May 31, 1930. To this union 2 children were born, Roger Lee, aged 2 and James Edward, aged 8 months. He was converted in early youth. He is survived by the widow and two children, a grandmother and a host of other relatives and friends. The funeral services were held at the Linden Chapel, conducted by Mr. Sam Brown, with burial in the Linden cemetery under the direction of the Klepper Undertaking Company.

J. L. Daniels was born born, February 14th, 1842 near Memphis, Tennessee. He came to Missouri when a child. He married Paulina Allen on November 1st, 1881. To this union were born four children, one dying in infancy. He is survived by the widow and three children, two daughters and one son, who are Mrs. Nita Weaver, Mrs. R. D. Walker, and C. F. Daniels. He united with the Christian church in January 1910 and has lived a faithful Christian life. He passed away on Monday, January 7th, 1929, aged 86 years, 11 months and 7 days. The funeral services were held at the residence Tuesday, January 8th, at 2 o’clock with Rev. W. P. Richardson, officiating, with burial in the City cemetery under the auspices of T. B. Chaffin.

Robert "Bob" Marion Daniels, 65, of Nixa, Mo., passed away Thursday, December 18, 2008. He was born November 7, 1943, in St. Louis, Mo. He was raised in the Rolla/Newburg area. He was a member of Macedonia Baptist Church in Springfield. He served in the U.S. Navy. He enjoyed warm weather outdoors to soak up the sun, swim or to work in his garden. He also enjoyed reading his collection of Louis L'Amour books. In the early years of 1990, he attended classes at OTC, later he transferred to Drury. He graduated from Drury in 1996, with a Bachelor of Science in Psychology and Criminal Justice. He was in sales and management for many years and had also driven for different trucking companies. He was preceded in death by his mother, Julia Ann (Burris) Ray; step-father Charles Ray Sr.; father Robert Marion Daniels Sr.; and brother Ronald Ray. He is survived by his wife of 32 years, Glenna; sons and daughters-in-law, Shawn and Stephanie Stubblefield, Tom and Amy Daniels, and Tim and Nicky Daniels; daughter Summer Daniels; grandsons, Brody and Tyler, Kolby and Kanyon, and Kyle; granddaughters, Sandy and Samantha, and Shelby and Rachel; brothers and sisters-in-law, Jimmy and Janet Daniels, Charles Ray Jr., and Dave and Marquitta Ray; sisters and brothers-in-law, Vickie and Denny Moneymaker, Bonnie and Bruce Welton, Connie and Steve Wood, and Karen Ray; and many nieces, nephews, other family members, and friends. FORDLAND - Services for Walter F. Daniels, 50, Davenport, Iowa, a Fordland native, were at 3:30 p.m. Thursday in West Finley Church near here with the Rev. Hubert Swearengin officiating. Mr. Daniels died at 11 a.m. Monday of an apparent heart attack while working in a steel factory in Muscatine, Iowa, according to a funeral home spokesman. He lived in Davenport, Iowa for the past 21 years. Pansy was born in Elijah, Missouri on May 6, 1931, the third child of Monroe and Mollie Hensley. She had been a Christian since age 15, having obeyed the gospel at the family's home congregation. Pansy was married August 15, 1954, in Kalamazoo, Michigan, to William Joseph D'Arcy, who preceded her in death December 17, 1971. She is survived by two daughters and their husbands, Dianne and Michael McCoy and Denise and Steve Kozal; three grandchildren, Brandi Sissel and her husband, Adam and Zack Kozal; one great-grandson, Ethan Sissel; two sisters, Patsy Matthews and Vivian Williams; a brother, Billy Hensley; and many nieces and nephews. she retired from Hospice of Southwest Missouri in 1996, and was a member of the Southside Church of Christ in Ozark. Visitation will be held in Greenlawn Funeral Home North, Tuesday, June 10,. from 6 to 8 p.m. The graveside service will be held Wednesday, at 10:30 a.m., in Greenlawn Memorial Gardens. E. D. “Dink” Darr, 62 of Nixa died Sunday afternoon near his cabin on Table Rock Lake where he had been deer hunting. Death was apparently due to a heart attack. Born in Oklahoma, Mr. Darr worked in Nixa the past 22 years as a school bus driver and also did water pump repair work. He was a member of the Nixa Christian Church. Surviving are his wife, Ethel; two daughters, Mrs. Lola May Halbrook and Mrs. Patsy Ruth Fitzpatrick, both of Nixa and five grandchildren. Funeral services were at 2:3o p.m. Wednesday in Harris Chapel at Nixa. The Rev. Roscoe Harding and the Rev. Kenneth Bandy officiated. Burial was in Payne Cemetery.

Funeral services for Mrs. Ethel Marie Darr, 61, Nixa, were held at 2 p.m. Sunday in Harris Chapel at Nixa with the Rev. Dale DeLong officiating. Burial was in Payne Cemetery. Mrs. Darr died at 7:50 p.m. Thursday in St. John’s Hospital in Springfield, where she had been in critical condition with head and leg injuries received Sunday afternoon when her southbound 1964 1966 Rambler slammed into the edge of the James River bridge on U. S. 160 six miles south of Springfield. Troopers said the accident apparently occurred when the woman fell asleep. Mrs. Darr was a native of Los Angeles, Calif. and moved to Nixa when she was about a year old. She was a member of the Nixa First Christian Church and was employed at the Regional Diagnostic Clinic for Mentally Retarded Children at Springfield. Surviving are two daughters, Mrs. Daniel Halbrook and Mrs. Charles Fitzpatrick, both of Nixa; five grandchildren, a foster sister, Mrs. Elma Tinsley, Nixa, a sister-in-law, Mrs. A. D. Hoffman of Los Angeles and a niece, Mrs. Irving Bauer of Los Angeles.

Walter R. Darr, 53, of Route 2, Ozark, died at 3:30 o’clock Tuesday afternoon in a veteran’s hospital in Wadsworth, Kan., following a lingering illness. Mr. Darr was a music teacher, a veteran of World War I, and a member of Grace Methodist Church. Survivors include his wife, Lotta; three daughters, Mrs. William H. Morton Jr., Miss Marieeta and Miss Sue Darr, all of the home; four brothers, Clyde of the Wadsworth, VA hospital; Ralph of Basin, Wy., Carl of Green Castle, Mo., and L.V. of Kirksville; two sisters, Mrs. Gertie Campbell of Basin, and Mrs. Fay Reed of Denver, and one granddaughter, Judith Lynn Morton of the home. Elnora Joyce (Phillips) Datema left this world to be with her Lord on Friday, November 23, 2007. After battling cancer for 11 months, she passed away from complications due to pneumonia. She was born in Brookline, Missouri, on November 1, 1938, to Doris (Keltner) and Roscoe Phillips. She was married to Hank Datema on April 18, 1959, and had two children. Ellie, as she was known by her friends and family, graduated from Republic High School in 1957 and went on to attend Draughons Business College. She went to work for Hermann Lumber Company as a bookkeeper, and then continued bookkeeping when she and Hank started Datema Construction. She retired from the company in 2000. Ellie enjoyed her retirement by traveling and being active in church and in her many social and service groups. Her involvement included the Division of Youth Services and the Youth Advocacy Council. She was preceded in death by her husband of 35 years and her parents. She is survived by her son, Homer Richard, his wife, Mia, and grandchildren, Michael Ross, Joshua Hank, Mariah Elnora and Emma Grace of Springfield; her daughter Joyce Anne and husband, Danny, of Hurley, and grandchildren, Coy Lane, Eryn Shae, Clinton Earl, and Keith William. She also leaves behind many friends and family members, including her brother and his wife, Gary and Diana Phillips; and sister and her husband, Janie and Steve House. Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, November 27, 2007, in St. Johns Chapel United Church of Christ, 4344 S. Fremont Ave., Springfield, with Pastor Becky Herbert officiating, under the direction of Meadors Funeral Home, Republic. Burial will follow in Brookline Cemetery, Brookline, Missouri. Visitation will be 5 to 7:30 p.m. Monday in the church. Hommo Datema, 85, of Springfield, died at 4 p.m. Feb. 24 at Maranatha Manor. Services for Mr. Datema were held Feb. 2? at First and Calvary Presbyterian Church with Dr. Curtis A. March officiating. Burial was in Brookline Cemetery under the direction of Gorman-Scharpf Funeral Home. A native of the Netherlands, Mr. Datema moved with his family to Springfield in 1949, becoming a United States citizen in 1956. Together with two of his sons, he founded Datema Construction Works, Ltd. and Datema Building Supplies, Inc. He was a member of First and Calvary Presbyterian Church. He was preceded in death by an infant son. Surviving are his wife of 61 years, Alice; four sons, Peter, Hank; and Corneil, Springfield, and Ralph, Denver, Colorado; two daughters, Sue Bos, Billings, and Alice Datema, Wheat Ridge, Colorado; 12 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; a brother, J.M. Mrs. Carrie E. Daugherty, 74, of Ontario, Calif. died Tuesday, August 1, at the home of a daughter in San Bernardino after an illness of several weeks. A native of Christian County. Mrs. Daugherty was the daughter of John C. and Ella J. Wasson, a pioneer family of Nixa. Following her completion of grades in the first term of school held in Nixa, she attended the Normal in Springfield. She taught in rural schools of Smyrna, Richwood and Garden Grove in the Nixa community. She moved to Ontario some 25 years ago. She is survived by her husband, William W. Daugherty, the daughter, Mrs. Peggy Lundren of San Bernardino; three sisters, Mrs. Christine Inman of Nixa, Mrs. Marion Lohmeyer of Point Lookout, Mo. and Mrs. Fern Goddard of Portland, Ore.; two brothers, Okla Wasson of Pasadena, Texas and Paul E. Wasson of Nixa, and two grandchildren. Mrs. Daugherty was a member of the First Baptist Church of Ontario. Funeral services were held Thursday, August 3, at the Ontario First Baptist church with Dr. Earl L. Riley officiating. Interment was in the Bellevue Cemetery in Ontario, Calif.

Jerry Lee Daugherty, 66, of Chadwick passed away Jan. 31, 2008, in Cox South Hospital, Springfield. He was born Feb. 12, 1941, in Sparta, the son of Earlin Daugherty and Geraldine (Applegate) Daugherty Holt. On Oct. 5, 1957, he was united in marriage to Viola Hull. Jerry was a loving dad and grandpa who spent many hours hunting and fishing with his kids and grandkids. He especially enjoyed attending his grandkids baseball and basketball games and was an avid fan of the Chadwick teams where four of his grandsons played basketball. He always told several fond stories about hunting and fishing trips with longtime friends, Jimmy Workman, Dennis Sherman and Joe Fowler. Jerry owned and operated Hill Top Lumber Company and for the past few years he drove a school bus for Chadwick School System. He was also an active member of Springfield Benchrest Rifle Club and Past Master of the Sparta Masonic Lodge No. 296. He was preceded in death by his father, step-father Gene "Hoot" Holt, infant granddaughter Ashley and sister-in-law Carolyn Daugherty. Daugherty, who departed this life Feb. 10, 1915, submit the following: resolved that the Knights and Ladies of Security, No. 1407 of Ozark extend their heart felt sympathy to the bereaved family. and be it also known that we, as Brothers and Sisters want to alleviate the great sorrow that has befallen them. Be it further resolved that a copy of these resolutions be furnished the bereft family. the Ozark papers and a copy of the same spread on minutes of our council.

Mrs. Nora Daugherty, 65, formerly of Springfield, died Tuesday evening at her home in Cushing, Okla., following a lingering illness. Survivors include her husband, Judson; three daughters, Mrs. Sylvia Cobb of Cushing, and Mrs. Eual Lane and Mrs. Joyce Lane, both of Billings; three sons, Joe and Lester Daugherty, both of San Marino, Calif., and Don Daugherty of the home; one sister, Mrs. Pearl Bryan and one brother, James Lanthrop of Springfield. Funeral services and burial were conducted in Cushing.

Ray H. Daugherty. 57, Ozark, died Wednesday morning in Ellis Fischel Hospital, Columbia, after an illness of several months. After receiving his law degree from Cumberland University, Lebanon, Tenn., Mr. Daugherty practiced law in Springfield, Ava, Lordsburg, N. M. and Ozark. He is survived by one son, Ray Dean, San Francisco, Calif.; one brother, Roy A., Terre Haute, Ind.; and two sisters, Mrs. Kathleen Brown, Del Rio, Texas, and Mrs. Eula Monks, Ozark. Funeral arrangements will be announced by Harris of Ozark.
