She is survived by her parents; grandparents, Penny and David Branstetter, John Hesseling, and Brenda and Jim Godeaux; great-grandparents, Bill and Jane Campbell, Mary Godeaux, Peggy Holmes, Tom and Karen Goins, Dallas Youngmon and Dick and Jan Hesseling; great-great-grandmother , Lorna Youngmon; aunts, Tiffany Youngmon, Dallas Godeaux, Megan and Meranda Riley; and numerous greataunts, great-uncles, and cousins. Rebecca Denise Godfrey, age 31, of Billings, died Sunday, November 23, 1997 in her home. She was born March 24, 1966 in Dimmitt, Texas, and was the daughter of E.J. and Wanda (Jeffcoat) Massengale. Rebecca was previously a Teacher’s Aid for the Nixa School System, and a Client Supervisor for DCO. Survivors include: three children, April Lane, and Amy Jo Godfrey, both of the home, and Rudalfo Contrares, Chicago; six brothers and sisters, Bob Massengale, Cathy Anderson, and Darlene Jackson, all of Nixa; Steve , Massengale, Bakersfield, Cal., Cindy Coen, Highlandville, and Tommy Massengale, Odessa, Texas; nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents and three brothers, Michael, Wayne, and Timothy Massengale. A graveside service will be 1:00 p.m. Wednesday, November 26, in Ava Cemetery with Pastor Terry Kendrick officiating. Arrangements are under the direction of Adams Funeral Home, Nixa. Memorial services for Glenda Lee “Leigha” Godsy, 19, Springfield, were held June 17 in Herman H,. Lohmeyer Chapel with the Rev. William Hodgson officiating. The body was cremated. Ms. Godsy was found Thursday in the Eagle Rock Arm of Table Rock Lake. Barry County authorities said she apparently drowned. Survivors include a daughter, Cynthia Anne King, of the home; her mother and stepfather, Lenore and Jerry Gallup, Springfield; and her father and stepmother, Glen A. and Bonnie Godsy, Ozark; three brothers, Jeremy, Jesse, and Jerry Gallup, all of Springfield; four sisters, Amber, Le’la, Julie and Lillie Ann Gallup, all of Springfield; and her grandmother, Gladys Godsy, Willow Springs. RUETER - Edward P. Goetz, 82, a longtime resident of Reuter, died at 5 p.m. Wednesday at St. John’s Hospital, Springfield after a short illness. He was a member of Fairview General Baptist Church and a veteran of World War I. Surviving are his wife, Mildred; six sons, Clarence and Carl, both of Springfield, Gorden of Rueter, Charley of Excelsior Springs, William of Clever and Ray of Ozark; three daughters, Mrs. Katherine Blair, Los Angeles, Mrs. Lena Church, Huntington Beach, Calif., and Mrs, Geraldine Brown, Chadwick; two step-sons, Edward Shields, Columbia and Donald Shields, Kansas City; four step-daughters, Mrs. Anna Mings, Hartville, Mrs. Wanda Lions and Mrs. Mary Lou O’Keefe, both of Victoria, Tex. and Mrs. Carolyn Walker, Route 2, Ozark; 34 grandchildren, 25 step grandchildren, 24 great grandchildren, and 13 step great grandchildren. Funeral services were at 2 p.m. Friday in Fairview Baptist Church in Taney County with the Rev. Glasco Roberts officiating. Burial was in Blair Cemetery near Rueter under direction of Harris Funeral Home of Ozark.

Mrs. Emma May Goetz, 78, died at 8 o’clock Tuesday night at her home in Taneyville, where she had lived since 1906. Mrs. Goetz had been ill for several months. Surviving are one son, Will H. Grimm of Ft. Scott, Kan.; one brother, Hubert H. Roat of Taneyville; one sister, Mrs. Myrtle Ingenthrone, of Taneyville, and 11 grandchildren. Services were held at 2 o’clock Thursday afternoon in the Seventh Day Adventist church in Taneyville. Burial was in Lone Star cemetery with Chaffin of Ozark in charge.

Services for Mrs. Goetz were held Saturday at the Craig-Hurtt-Bradley Funeral Home Chapel, Mountain Grove, with the Rev. Gary Fry officiating. Burial was in the Lone Star Cemetery, south of Mountain Grove. Mrs. Goetz was a member of the First Freewill Baptist Church of Mountain Grove. Dennis Mac Goforth, 57, Brookline, was born October 24, 1948, the son of Jack and Vernita Goforth, and went home to be with his Heavenly Father on April 11, 2006, joining friends and family gone on before. Growing up in Ava, he moved to Springfield where he attended Central High School. He was united in marriage to Dianna R. McLaughlin on December 17, 1966. To this union was born three children: Teresa, Rebecca and Matt. Dennis spent his life building homes in the Nixa/Springfield area. He was devoted to the Lord Jesus and graduated from Rhema Bible Training Center in Tulsa, Oklahoma, in 2000. He was a loving husband and wonderful father. He is survived by his wife, Dianna, of nearly 40 years; daughter, Teresa L. and husband, Joe Mayer; daughter, Rebecca M. and husband, Jay Moore; son, Matt and fiance, Jaime Lang; grandson, Joseph D. Mayer; granddaughter, Rianna E. Mayer; grandson, William E. Mayer; his mother, Vernita Clem; brother, Nyal Goforth and wife, Gracie; sister, Pauline Thompson and husband, Chuck; sister, Kathy Arbuckle and husband, Ronnie; several nieces and nephews. Maxine B. (Gibson) Gohr, 69, Rogersville, Mo., passed away Thursday, February 14, 2008. She was born on Oct. 16, 1938, in Boxley, Ark., the daughter of Raster and Opal Gibson. Maxine was married to Richard Gohr on Oct. 6, 1959. She was a retired nurse, having worked at the Taylor Health Center at Missouri State University for over 28 years. Maxine was preceded in death by her parents; a son, Kent Curtis; two brothers, Buddy and J.T. Gibson; and a sister, Kay Plumlee. She is survived by her husband Richard; a son, Mike Gohr and wife, Karen; a grandson, Cody Gohr; a granddaughter, Brittany Gohr, all of Clever, Mo.; a daughter-in-law, Shirley Curtis, Springfield, Mo.; a sister, Jackie Feltrope, Harrison, Ark.; two nieces, a nephew and many other relatives and friends. Fay Adams Goin, age 85, Springfield, formerly of Sparta, passed away Sunday, October 29, 2000 in St. John's Regional Health Center. She was born Wednesday, September 29, 1915 near Harmon Creek in Christian County, the daughter of Andy and Ettie Jane Gray Adams. On December 16, 1936, she and Olen Norman Goin, who preceded her in death in 1962, were united in marriage in Ava. Fay had been a member of Mound Fundamental Baptist Church, Oldfield, and also the Bruner Lighthouse Church, Bruner. She was preceded in death by her parents; four brothers, Arthur, Lora, Loman and Ray Adams; three sisters, Ruth, Meda, and Juanita Jo Adams; and two great-grandsons, Geoffrey and Tate Gift. Survivors include, three children, Don Goin and wife Carol, Bruner, Loretta Ewing and husband Gary Bruner, and Kenneth Goin and wife Ann, Oldfield; seven grandchildren, Malana Kim Gift, Ozark, Paul Ewing, Ozark, Ambrea Payne, Sparta, Randal Ewing, Ava, Angela Goin, Springfield, Tina Goin, Springfield, and Amy Leigh Layton, Nixa; and seven great-grandchildren, Kati Jo and Emilee Ewing, Ava, Taylor and Austin Payne, Sparta, Alexa and Ian Gift, Ozark and Hailey Layton, Nixa. Fay devoted her life to loving all of these people. The most cherished and best remembered times of her life have been the "togetherness" of her family. Golda Marie Goin, 92 years, 11 months, and 8 days old, passed to heaven on December 5, 2011 at Cox Medical Center South, Springfield, MO. Golda was born December 28, 1918 in Douglas County, MO to Jim and Eva (Johnson) Scribner. On Feb. 19, 1938 Golda and Truman Goin were united in marriage in Oldfield, MO and to this union three children were born. She was a member of the Mound Baptist Church. Golda loved raising a garden, especially tomatoes, cooking and quilting. Making pies was her specialty and especially her lemon pies. Her joy was spending time with her grandchildren, her church family and friends. Golda was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Truman, one son, Ronald Goin, two brothers, two sisters. Golda is survived by one son, Gale & Sue Goin, Oldfield, MO and one daughter, Roberta & Mike Patrick, Saint Augustine, FL, seven grandchildren, 14 great grandchildren, one brother, Art Scribner, Hemmett, CA and a host of other relatives and friends. Funeral services for Golda will be Wednesday, December 7, 2011, at 2:00 p.m. in the Mound Baptist Church on T. Highway with burial in the Hall Cemetery @ Mound. Rick V. Goin, 48, Chadwick, passed away Thursday, April 12, 2001 in his home. He was born May 19, 1952 in Douglas County, near the Mound Community, to Vernon and Ruth (Williams) Goin. He graduated from Ava High School in 1970. On Oct. 11, 1973 he was united in marriage to Vickie Rozell of Chadwick. On Aug. 20, 1979, a daughter, Rintha Lachele, was born. Rick was a deacon and trustee of First Baptist Church of Chadwick. He wasemployed by Associated Wholesale grocers for the past 22 years. He was a member of teamsters Local 245. During his life Rick had a great love for the outdoors. He enjoyed fishing and hunting. He especially enjoyed spending time with his family and friends. Survivors include his wife, Vickie and daughter, Rintha, both of the home; a brother, Robert "Butch" and his wife, Monica, Ozark; two sisters, Peggy Livingston and her husband, John, Marshfield, and Deborah Harvill and her husband Mickey, Oldfield; his mother-in-law, Huba Rozell, Chadwick; a sister-in-law, Sarah Grubaugh and her husband, John, Ozark; a brother-in-law, Tom Rozell and his wife Kristi, Chadwick; seven nephews, Taylor, Drew, Ethan, Roger, David, Scotty and Marcus and three nieces, Sierra, Tiffany and Amanda. Blanche Anna (Rogers) Goins died Wednesday, May 26, 2004 at 12:45 p.m. in her home in Bruner. Blanche, daughter of Louis and Ann Pletcher Rogers was born October 27, 1912 in Ochitree, Texas. She became a Christian at a very early age, dedicating her life to God. She was a homemaker, caregiver and a member of the Bruner Baptist Church. On July 18, 1934, she was united in marriage to Roy Edward Goins, Sr. in Ochiltree, Texas and to this union five children were born: Roy Edward, Jr., Harvey Allen, James Louis, Juanita All and George Thomas. Blanche loved her Lord and was a loving wife, mother, daughter, grandmother, great grandmother, great-great grandmother, sister, friend and neighbor. Blanche was preceded in death by an infant son Harvey, her husband Ed, her mother and father, one son-in-law Ival Roller, two brothers, Benny and George Rogers and two sisters, Gladys King and Bessie Arms. Services for Thomas N. Goins, 72, Perkin, Ill., were held Oct. 29 at the Ludwig-Rohrschneider Mortuary in Groveland, Burial was in Groveland Evangelical Mennonite Church Cemetery. Mr. Goins died of natural causes Oct. 26 in Methodist Medical Center, Peoria, Ill. A Groveland resident since 1948, he retired from the Caterpillar Tractor Co., in 1974. The family will be in the chapel from 7 to 9 p.m. today. Mrs. Gold died at 10:30 a.m. Monday in Mercy Villa in Springfield of natural causes. She was a member of the First Baptist Church here and was a charter member of the Nixa American Legion Auxiliary Unit No. 434. She was also a member of the Nixa Senior Citizens Club, and was a former resident of Browns Spring and Billings. Survivors include two sons, Finis E. of Nixa, and Raymond, of Nixa; a daughter, Mrs. Iva Lea Meek, Nixa; a brother, Earnest Hair, Hurley; four grandchildren, one step-grandchild and two great-grandchildren.

Beatrice Linda Gold, longtime resident of Crane, Mo., passed away Sept. 14, 2003, at St. John's Regional Health Center in Springfield. Bea was born April 10, 1910, in Shook, Mo., to Noah and Martha Davis. She was married to Robert L. Gold on Feb. 19, 1925, who preceded her in death. She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Crane. She enjoyed growing flowers, especially iris, and loved to quilt. She was preceded in death by a son; two brothers; and two half-sisters. Bea is survived by two daughters, Ann Harris of Crane and Juanita Lawrence of Chadwick; a son, Roy Gold of Ozark; a half-sister, Maggie Crutchfield of Puxico, Mo.; a half-brother, Albert Williams of Essex, Mo.; 12 grandchildren; 19 great grandchildren; and 13 great great-grandchildren. Brian "Lance" Gold, 32, Bentonville, Arkansas, died Wednesday, March 15, 2006, in his home. He was born February 21, 1974, in Springfield, Missouri, the son of Ronald Lee and Susie Gold. He enjoyed motorcycles, golfing, hunting, and ATVing. He enjoyed vacationing and going rafting, parachuting, snow skiing, and canoeing. He was the owner and operator of Wood Renew in Springdale, Arkansas. He was a member of the Billings United Methodist Church in Billings, Missouri, and a member of St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church in Rogers, Arkansas. He and his family had lived in Northwest Arkansas for seven years, after moving from Missouri. Lance is survived by his wife, Teena Gold; a son, Nathan Gold; a daughter, Jeri Gold, all of the home; his parents; Ron and Susie Gold, Billings; two sisters, Carrie Pilkinton and her husband, Tim, Battlefield, and Chanda Zahner and her husband, Ron, Pleasant Hope; his maternal grandfather, George Jenkins, Republic; mother-inlaw, Carol Rote, Aurora; sister-in-law, Angie Boettler and her husband, Tim, Aurora; five nieces; and several additional family members and many friends. Dela Virginia Gold was born at Crane, MO, Dec. 12, 1885 and died Nov. 22, 1933 at her home near Brown Springs, MO, in which community she spent practically all her life. She was married Sept. 16, 1908 to V.T. Gold of Billings, MO. To this union were born two children, one girl Cecil and one boy Melville. Her father and mother, Mr. and Mrs. M. C. Gray and one brother Thomas Arthur preceded her in death. She leaves to mourn her departure her husband and two children, Mrs. Ralph Wright and Melvin Gold, who is at present with the C.C.C. camp at Roaring River State Park near Cassville, MO, two grandchildren, five brothers, J.A. Gray, Fayetteville, AR; W.E. Gray of Monett, MO; C.O. Gray and C.L. Gray of Billings, MO; and J.W. Gray of Brown Springs, MO. Three sisters, Mrs. Clifford McCullah of Brown Springs; Mrs. H.H. Ellis of Crane and Mrs. Frank Stark of Billings. Many other relatives and a host of friends. She was converted at the age of 11 years and united with the Shiloh Baptist church later moved her membership to the Brown Springs Baptist church where she proved the sincerity of her love for her Lord. For the past eight successive years she has served as clerk of the Stone Co. Baptist Association. It is with unanimous assent that we express our felling that we shall miss in all realms of worthy service a worker whose spirit of service is not excelled by any one. Her influence shall live on and do untold good thru the lives of her family and those who knew her. Funeral services were held Thursday Nov. 23 at 2 p.m. at the Brown Springs Baptist church conducted by Rev. R.W. Francis Armintie Gold was born Jan. 8, 1883, to Mr. and Mrs. Marian Gwaltney, and departed this life February 28, 1948, at the age of 65 years, one month and 19 days. She was united in marriage to Ed Gold October 13, 1905. To this union nine children were born. Cleo, an infant son, preceded her in death. She is survived by her husband, five sons and three daughters; Leslie, Walter and Floyd Gold, all of Hurley, Burl of Billings and Loyd Gold of Crane; Mrs. Chas. Smytha, Reed Springs, Mrs. Alex Granz of Galena and Mrs. Howard Lapp of Trenton; also three brothers and two sisters: W.M. Gwaltney of Springfield, L.N. Gwaltney of Aurora, R.C. Gwaltney of Reedely, Calif., Mrs. Emma Rickman of Hurley, and Mrs. Minerva Watkins of Aurora. She is also survived by 27 grandchildren and a host of other relatives and friends. She was converted and baptized into the Missionary Baptist church in 1931. But in later life she came into the faith of the Holiness people. Funeral services were held at 2 o’clock Sunday in the Hurley High School conducted by Rev. Freddie McKnight of Elsey with burial in Wright cemetery under direction of Maples Funeral Home of Clever.

He was born August 27, 1919, to Clarence and Virgie Mae (Houser) Gold. He resided in Stone County his entire life and attended Henry and Hurley High Schools. He was a former employee of Missouri Farmers Association where he was a bookkeeper and delivered gas and fuel oil from the tank truck. Mr. Gold was married to Ruby Robinson in 1938. He was of the Primitive Baptist faith all his life. He was preceded in death by his wife, Ruby; his parents; and two brothers. Survivors include two sons and their wives, Freddie Ray and Pat Gold, Springfield, Edwin Dale and Mary Ann Gold, Broken Arrow, Oklahoma, and a daughter, Dixie Lea Haddock, Hurley; five grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; a sister, Louella Dulin, Brookline; a brother, Billy Joe Gold and wife, Sandy, Hurley; several nieces and nephews; other relatives and friends. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday, May 1, 2008, in Meadors Funeral Home, Clever, with Elder Bill Wood officiating. Burial will follow in Wise Hill Cemetery, Clever. Services for Leslie Gold, 74, Route 2, Crane, were held Feb. 2 in View Point Fundamental Methodist Church with the Revs. Roy Wade and Stanley Clark officiating. Burial will be in Crane Memorial Cemetery under the direction of Meadors of Clever. Mr. Gold, a lifelong Stone County resident, died Saturday evening at his home after apparently suffering a heart attack. Survivors include his wife, Vesta; two sons, William L., Venita, Okla. and Tommy, Crane; three daughters, Mrs. Elnora Raper, Campbell, Calif., Mrs. Mary Ellen Pilz, Stockton, Calif., and Mrs. Marie Thomas, Billings; one brother, Walter, Crane; three sisters, Mrs. Eva Lapp, Hannibal, Mrs. Etta Mae Smythe, Reeds Spring; and Mrs. Fern Grenz, Garden City, Kan.; 18 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren.

Lon Gold, 97, Billings, was found dead Sunday afternoon, June 9, 1991, in his home, of an apparent heart attack. A well-known farmer and pioneer, he was a lifelong resident of the Union City community. He was preceded in death by his wife, Vesta; and three children, Everett, Albert and Bonnie. He is survived by four daughters, Anna Lea Atkins, and her husband, Scottie, Billings, Zelda Jackson, and her husband, Lloyd, Republic, Jessie Schwandt and her husband, Keith, Cassville, and Freida Gibson, Republic; a son, Jim Gold, and his wife, Betty, Billings; a daughter-in-law, Wilma Gold, Crane; two sisters, Joyce McFarland, Billings, and Ida Burkhardt, Springfield; 20 grandchildren; 34 great-grandchildren; and nine great-great-grandchildren. Services will be at 2 p.m. today (Thursday) in Meadors Funeral Home, Clever, with the Rev. Victor Horton officiating. Burial will be in Mount Carmel Cemetery. Visitation was from 7:30 to 8:30 p.m. Wednesday in the funeral home.
