Funeral services for John P. Isbell, 72. of Sparta, who died Friday afternoon, Sept. 10, in Springfield Baptist Hospital, were at 2 p.m. Sunday in Sparta Church of Christ with Dewayne Bray officiating. Burial was in Sparta Cemetery under direction of Harris of Ozark. Mr. Isbell is survived by two sons, Preston, Route 8, Springfield and Max, Mountain Grove; four grandchildren; five great grandchildren; a brother, C. P. Isbell, Higginsville and two sisters, Mrs. Blanche Vaughan, Springfield and Mrs. John Dillard, Denver, Colo.

Madge W. Isbell, 72, Springfield, died at 11:06 a.m. Saturday, July 4, in Cox Medical Center South in Springfield. She was born Aug. 27, 1919, in Sparta, the daughter of Glen and Maude Bateman Isbell. She was employed as a secretary by the Southwest Regional Stockyards. She was a member of South Street Christian Church in Springfield. Survivors include a brother, Joe Isbell, and his wife, Mary Ann, Albequerque, N.M.; a sister, Edith Gilley, and her husband, Noel, Sparta; and nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents and a sister, Mabel Maples. Services were held Tuesday, July 7, at Sparta Cemetery under the direction of Adams Funeral Home with the Rev. Max Jenkins officiating. Memorial contributions may be made to South Street Christian Church.

Funeral services for Mrs. Maude Isbell, 67, who died at 3:20 p.m. Wednesday in her home at 1331 State after a lingering illness, were at 2 p.m. Saturday in Harris Chapel at Ozark with the Rev. Kermit Finley officiating. Burial was in Sparta Cemetery. Mrs. Isbell, a member of South Street Christian Church, is survived by a son, Joe, McAllen, Tex; three daughters, Miss Madge Isbell of the home. Mrs. Raymond Maples, Clever, Mrs. Noel Gilley, Sparta; three brothers, Knial Bateman, 1634 East Commercial, A. J. Bateman, Phoenix, Ariz, Orville Bateman, Sunnyvale, Calif. and six grandchildren.

Mrs. Ollie Isbell, 68, a life-long resident of the Sparta community, died at her home at 3:30 a.m. Monday. She was a member of the Sparta Christian Church., She is survived by her husband, John of the home; two sons, Preston Isbell, Route 8, Springfield and Max Isbell, Mt. Grove; four grandchildren, four great grandchildren and a sister, Mrs. Susie Fowler, Modesto, Calif. Funeral services were at 2:30 p.m. Wednesday in Sparta Church of Christ with Dwayne Bray officiating. Burial was in Sparta Cemetery under direction of Harris of Ozark.

Nadine Mary Isenberg, 67, of Jefferson City, died Wednesday at St. Mary's Health Care Center. She was born Sept. 5, 1928 in Jefferson City, the daughter of Jule Hugo and Anna Lucille Westhues Oidtman. She was a 1946 graduate of St. Peter High School. She married Samuel Lee Isenberg on April 10, 1948, in Jefferson City, who survives at the home. She offered child care services out of her home for many area families for 20 years until retiring in 1994. Earlier she was a receptionist for Dr. L.B. Klebba. She was a member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church; St. Ann's Sociality; Fraternal Order of Eagles Aerie No. 2693 Ladies Auxiliary; Immaculate Club; and the ladies bowling league at Westgate Lanes. Other survivors include five daughters, Rose Ann Wellington, Columbia; Mary Bloomer and Kim Schroeder, both of Holts Summit; Joanie Talbott, Pratt, Kansas; Angel Eakins, Ozark, Missouri; six sons, Jim, Larry, and Chip Isenberg, all of Jefferson City; Lee Isenberg, Auburn, WA; Craig Isenberg, Ashland; and Jerry Isenberg, Wardsville; 24 grandchildren; 3 great-grandchildren; four sisters, Bebe Martin, Sarasota, Florida; Anna Marie Klebba, Jefferson City; Jewel Rae Licius, Lake Ozark; and Joanie Brondel, Manhatten, Kansas; and a brother, Jerome Oidtman, Tennessee. She was preceded in death by an infant daughter, Laurie Annette Isenberg. Services were 10 a.m. Friday at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church. The Rev. Henry J. Reichert officiated. Burial was in Resurrection Cemetery. Visitation was 4-8 p.m. Thursday at Dulle Funeral Home, with the Rosary recited at 8 p.m. Memorials are suggested to Helias Foundation; or the Candlelighters.

Nannie C. Klepper was born in Rogersville, Tenn., in Hawkins County, April 21, 1873, the daughter of James Klepper and Sarah Molsby. She passed away at the Burge hospital in Springfield, Mo., Monday, April 25, at 11:50 a.m. after an illness of several weeks. She was 65 years and five days of age. She was united in marriage to J.L. Isenberg, Sept. 8, 1889, at Rogersville, Tenn. To this union were born four children. Three sons, Wm. C. and J.F., who preceded their mother in death, and Daniel M., who survives, and one daughter, Alma C., of Golden City Mo. With the exception of two years they have lived in Golden City since 1901. She became a Christian early in life and united with the United Brethren church, later transferring her membership to the First Presbyterian church of Golden City, Mo., of which church she was a member at the time of her death. She leaves to mourn her departure the husband, J.L. Isenberg, one son, Daniel M. of Pierson, Iowa, one daughter, Alma C. of Golden City, two brothers Sam Klepper of Rogersville, Tenn., and Tom Klepper of Jefferson City, Tenn., two sisters, Mrs. Ossie Altom of Fountain City, Tenn., and Miss Tennie Klepper of Jefferson City, Tenn., and a host of other relatives and friends to mourn her departure. She was a devoted wife and mother, and a kind of helpful neighbor and was loved by all whose privilege it was to have known her. Funeral services were held Wednesday, April 27, at 2:30 p.m. in the Klepper Funeral Chapel in Ozark with the Rev. Jones, pastor of the First Presbyterian church of Golden City, officiating. Interment was made in the Smith cemetery near Rogersville, Mo., The deceased was a cousin of B.C. Klepper of this city.

Samuel Lee Isenberg, 77, Jefferson City, died Feb. 23, 2003, at St. Mary's Health Center, Jefferson City. He was born March 28, 1925, in Meta, the son of Henry George Isenberg and Rosa Belle (Barnhart) Isenberg. He was married on April 10, 1948, in Jefferson City to Nadine Mary Oidtman who died on May l, 1996. He was employed with Gold Cup Bakery, Von Hoffman Press, and Fraternal Order of Eagles. He was a member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, Holy Name Society, Knights of Columbus, and Fraternal Order of Eagles Aerie No. 2693. Survivors include six sons, Henry L. Isenburg, Auburn, Wa., Samuel J. Isenberg and Larry B. Isenberg, Jefferson City, Chip M. Isenberg, Henley; Craig J. Isenberg, Ashland, and Jerry S. Isenberg, Wardsville; five daughters, Rose Ann Wellington, Columbia, Mary Bloomer and Kim Schenewerk, Holts Summit, Joanie Talbott, Pratt, Kan., and Angel Eakins, Spokane; 30 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; and one sister, Ann Verhoff, Jefferson City. He was preceded in death by an infant daughter, Laurie Annette Isenberg. Services were Feb.. 26 in Immaculate Conception Catholic Church. The Rev. Thomas L. Alber officiated. Burial was in Resurrection Cemetery. Memorials are suggested to Helias Foundation or Candlelighters.

Services for Bill Isham, 52, Ozark, were held May 27 in Harris Funeral Chapel in Ozark with the Rev. Hubert Swearengin officiating. Burial was in Temple Hill Cemetery near Bruner. Masonic rites were conducted by Friend Lodge , No. 352. Mr. Isham died May 24 in St. John’s Regional Health Center following a long illness. Survivors include his wife, Carole; three sons, Mike, Rickey and Brian, all of the home; one daughter, Cheryl, of the home; one sister, Mrs. Donna Pettit, Rogersville; and five brothers, Frank Huffman, Osceola, Dwayne Huffman, Fort Walton Beach, Fla., Kenny Hyde, Fordland, Linnie Hyde, Marshfield and Jacky Hyde, Albia, Iowa.

John Isrell was born in Christian county, near Petelo, in 1854. He died Monday, Oct. 30, 1939, after several week’s illness. He had no immediate survivors. Funeral services were held Tuesday, Oct. 31, at 2 p.m. in the Klepper Funeral Chapel with Rev. J.C. Tolbirt officiating. Interment was made in the Ozark City Cemetery under the direction of B.C. Klepper.

Died, at Vexation Camp. Ripple County, Mo. Friday, Oct. 9th of throat trouble Mrs. James Ivans aged 30 years, 7 months and 17 days. Mrs. Ivans (Miss Mary Leavitt) was born near St. Joseph, Mo. Feb 22d, 1873. She was united in marriage to Jas. Ivans at Springfield Sept. 25th, 1889. To this union were born five children, three boys and two girls, the oldest now 12 years, the youngest 2 years. The only living member of her family, her mother, lives near Walnut Shade, Taney County and knew nothing of her sickness and death until after her burial. She was a member of the Baptist church and died in the hopes of a life beyond the river of death. Funeral services were conducted by Rev. W. C. Armstrong at the Baptist church, Ozark - Sunday afternoon and her remains were interred in the Ozark cemetery Sunday evening to await the resurrection.

Marguerite B. Ivory, 84, formerly of Highlandville, Mo., passed away November 3, 2007, in Port St. Lucie, Fla. She was born June 23, 1923, in Brooklyn, N.Y. Her husband, Wellen F. Ivory, and a daughter, Marguerite B. Huysman, preceded her in death. She is survived by sons, Tim Ivory and his wife, Irene, Springfield, Mo., and Joseph Ivory and his wife, Donna, Ava, Mo.; daughters, Lynn Ivory, Port St. Lucie, Fla., and Patricia Busch and her husband, Howard, Winthrop, N.Y.; 25 grandchildren and 28 great-grandchildren. A funeral Mass will be held Friday, November 9, 2007, at 10 a.m. in Immaculate Conception Church, 3555 S. Fremont, Springfield, Mo. Visitation will be Thursday, November 8, from 3 to 5 p.m. in Klingner-Cope Family Funeral Home, 1635 N. Benton, Springfield.

Wellen F. “Wally” Ivory, age 74, of Ozark, died Tuesday August 5, 1997, in his home. He was born September 23, 1922, in Brooklyn, New York, and was the son of Benjamin and Julia (Guzmich) Ivory. He served his country in the U.S. Army Air Corps during World War II. He was united in marriage to Marguerite Rubenstrunk on June 25, 1943. Mr. Ivory retired as a railroad electrician and moved to Ozark in 1987. He was a member of the Roman Catholic Church. His parents preceded him in death, as well as a brother, Fredrick Benjamin Ivory. Survivors include: his wife, Marguerite; five children, Marguerite Huysman and her husband, Martin, Pawcatuck, Connecticut, Joseph Ivory and his wife, Donna, Springfield, Lynne Marie Ivory, Malone, New York, Timothy G. Ivory and his wife, Irene, Ozark, and Patricia Ann Bush and her husband, Howard, Winthrop, New York; 21 grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren. Funeral mass was Friday, August 8, in St. Joseph The Worker Catholic Church, Ozark, with Father Paul McLoughlin officiating. Burial was in Weaver Cemetery. A Prayer Service was held Thursday in Adams Funeral Home, Ozark.
