Reinbold, Charlie Bell “Chalsie“ (Reid) 21 Jan 1869 - 14 Dec 1952 CCR 8 Jan 1953 p5

Charlie Bell Reid was born January 21, 1869 in Marshfield, Missouri.  When she was eighteen months old, she moved with her family to the Billings community where she spent the rest of a rather long life.  She was married June 6, 1895 to Frank Reinbold. To this union were born four children: Alice of Crystal City, Missouri; Frank Owen who preceded his mother in death on February 15, 1907; Mary, Mrs. Walton D. Jones of Monett, Missouri and Bennie, Mrs. L. G. Keith of Independence, Missouri. She was a member of the Christian Church of Billings, having professed her faith and united with the church soon after reaching the age of understanding and accountability. She passed away December 14, 1952 at her home, having reached the age of  83 years, 10 months and 23 days. She had suffered a hip fracture on November 13, but had seemed well on the road to recovery when death came rather suddenly and unexpectedly on December 14. She lived out a life of devotion to her family and consecration to her Christian faith that extended over a period of more than half a century. She lived modestly, never seeking to be spectacular in any way. Yet, to her intimate friends and to her immediate family, she was an invaluable source of inspiration and strength. Though she closed her earthly span of years and silently moved on, the old home is filled with sweet memories, and to her daughters will be sacred because their mother’s sweet spirit will ever abide therein. Besides her husband and daughters, she leaves to mourn her death two granddaughters, Linda Ben Jones and Martha Reinhard Keith; three sisters-in-law, Miss Flora Reinbold, Mrs. H. V. Reid and Mrs. Lyda Denny; several cousins, nieces, nephews and close friends. Miss Flora Reinbold and Mrs. Helen Walters were with her during her last days. Interment was made in Rose Hill Cemetery under direction of Harris of Billings.

Death Was Busy

Mr. and Mrs. H. V. Reid returned this week from Billings where they had been with the family of Frank Reinbold, Mr. Reid’s brother-in-law, whose son Frank Owen Reinbold, died last Friday morning. The child was eight years old. Just across the street from Mr. Reinbold lives Jack Howard, cashier of the bank of Billings, and an intimate friend of the Reinbold family. He, too, had a son, Donald, seven years old, who was sick at the same time. The families are very close friends and neighbors, When the funeral party returned to Billings Sunday afternoon, after the burial of the Reinbold child, the child of Mr. Howard was reported as dying, Reinbold went over and stayed with his friend until the great ordeal was over. The death of these two boys, whose fathers are close friends and who were playmates, touches a sympathetic chord in the hearts of all who know them. It is a catastrophe whose pain dulls the brain and breaks the heart of these two fathers and mothers, It seems as though they must have, at least, drunk the dregs in the cup of life, and no man who cherished the love of the first born, can think of an hour like this without a mist rising in his eyes and without a clutch at his heart. But after all, it may be best, Who can tell? It may be that the Father who gives and who takes away, may have a purpose in all the bitterness - a purpose that is kind and true - and one which may reveal Himself and lead the human heart to know that God is master both in life and death.
