Funeral services for Mrs. Mary Lee Crumpley Wilson of Marionville were at 2 p.m. April 3, 2010, in the Pierson Cumberland Presbyterian Church at Bradfield with Rev. Duncan Clyne officiating. Interment followed in the Charity Cemetery at Bradfield, under the direction of Williams Funeral Home of Marionville. Mary Lee was born on Sept. 14, 1941, in Marionville, to John Wesley and Carmine Celia Pearce Crumpley. She passed away on March 31, 2010, at 6 p.m. in her home surrounded by her loved ones. Mary Lee graduated with the class of 1959 from Marionville High School. She was united in marriage to Ray Wilson on June 30 1961, and to this union two daughters were born. She was a member of the Pierson Cumberland Presbyterian Church, and served as an elder for many years.  She was also a teacher’s aid and bus driver for the Greene Valley State School and a homemaker. She was preceded in death by her parents, John and Carmine Crumpley. Her survivors include her husband, Ray of the home; two daughters and her son-in-law, Marla and Ron Shuler of Clever, Melissa Bowman of Diamond; her four grandchildren, Coy Burton, Eryn Burton, Trey Bowman and Nathan Shuler; her siblings, Mearleen Barnett of Clever, Bill and Joyce Crumpley of Willard, and Janice and Herb Bluebaum of Billings; her mother-in-law, Jency Wilson of Republic; her brother-in-law; Leeroy and Barbara Wilson of Clever; also several nephews and nieces and many good friends.

Mary Maxine Wilson, 75, Ozark, Mo., passed away Saturday, March 18, 2006, in her home. She was born July 17, 1930, in Omaha, Nebraska, the daughter of Enoch and Edna (Swiver) Hammons. On August 16, 1953, she was united in marriage to Wilbur Earl Wilson at Harrison, Arkansas. Maxine was a retired antique business owner who enjoyed refinishing and restoring old furniture and antiques. She also owned an outstanding collection of Fenton glassware, which she collected for over 40 years. Maxine's other interests included ancestry research on family genealogy, flower gardening, growing large vegetable gardens, traveling and cooking. Known for her compassion, generosity and dedication to her husband, family and friends is the legacy that will long survive her within the many hearts she touched. Preceding Maxine in death were her parents, and two sons, Jim and Danny Wilson. Maxine is survived by her husband, Wilbur Wilson; one daughter, Janis Sue Crable and husband, Leonard, of Battlefield, Mo.; three granddaughters, Jaime Flagg, Stephanie Kragskow and Tillie Woods; one grandson, George Crable; two adopted granddaughters, Jennifer Wilson and Robyn Graves; seven great-grandchildren; one brother, Thomas Hammons and one half-brother, Harold Howard; other caring relatives and several good friends and neighbors. Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday, March 22, 2006, in Barnes Family Funeral Home, Ozark, Mo., with Rev. Jerry Applegate officiating. Burial will follow in Selmore Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 7 to 8 p.m. tonight, in the funeral home.

Michael Wayne Wilson, 43, Nixa, departed this life Friday, April 5, 2002 in Cox Medical Center North, Springfield, surrounded by a multitude of family, friends, and prayer. He was born March 2, 1959 in West Plains, Mo. On August 12, 1989 he and Patti Nichols were married. From this union, a daughter, Taylor Marie was born. Michael was employed by Springfield Aluminum Company. He attended Sunshine Church of Christ. Michael was a loving father, son, brother, and friend who will be greatly missed by all who knew him. Wilson, 90, a lifelong resident of Stone and Christian counties, will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday in the Union Ridge Baptist Church in Stone County with the Revs. Jimmy Carter and Tommy Bilyeu officiating. Burial will be in the Union Ridge Cemetery under the direction of the Harris Funeral Home of Nixa. Mrs. Wilson died at 9;40 A.M. Monday in St. John’s Hospital, Springfield. Mrs. Wilson was a member of the Union Ridge Baptist Church. Burial was in Easter Cemetery under the direction of Marsh Funeral Home. Mrs. Wilson died Dec. 30 in the home of a daughter in Fordland following a long illness. She was a homemaker and a member of the Mount Gillian Baptist Church. Survivors include three sons, Albert, Ozark, Eugene “Pete”. Nadine Wilson, 67, Nixa, died at 2:45 Saturday, Dec. 22, 1990, in her home, following a long illness. Nadine Andrus was born July 9, 1923, to Jess and Cora Blades Andrus in Stone County. She married Leo Wilson Dec. 31, 1941. She owned and operated Kut and Kurl beauty shop in Nixa for 25 years, and was a member of Riverdale Baptist Church. She is survived by her husband, Leo; a daughter, Linda Cook, Clever; three brothers, John Andrus, Clever, J.D. Andrus, Rockford, Ill., and Kenneth Andrus, Chilhowee; two sisters, Imogene Wilson, Crane, and Joan Logan, Hurley; four grandchildren, Michelle Cook and Michael Cook. both of Clever, Eric Wilson, Springfield, and Yvette Wilson: two great-grandchildren, Javen and Caeli Mitchell, Clever. Nicholas “Nick” Lee Wilson, 14, Nixa, died at 12:15 a.m., June 9, 1995, in his home following a long illness. He was born at 12:15 a.m. Jan. 28, 1981, in Springfield, the son of Glenna Chastain Barnett and Frank Lee Wilson. He was a member of the Nixa Junior High Honor Society and the Missouri Junior Honor Society. He enjoyed all sports, but his first love was basketball. He was an avid fan or the Arkansas Razorbacks and Atlanta Braves. In April of 1994 he was baptized and became a member of Nixa Church of the Nazarene. His faith, courage, strength and positive attitude touched the lives of many people in many ways.  Nick is survived by his parents, Glenna and Bill Barnett, Nixa, and Frank and Judy Wilson, Springfield; a sister and her husband, Tina and Eldon Hussard, Billings; a brother and his wife, Terry and Lisa Wilson, Springfield; two step-sisters and their spouses, Belinda and Chuck Mercer, Springfield, and Barbie and Mark Stillings, Olathe, Kan.; two step-brothers and their spouses, Donald and Tracy Shelton and LaVon and Belinda Shelton, state of Texas; maternal grandparents, Bill and Wilma Chastain, Clever, paternal grandparents Bob and Dorothy Wilson, Ozark; step-grandparents Louise and Bentley Trogden, Springfield and Dorothy Cagle, El Reno, Okla.; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and other relatives and friends. Services for Oliver Wilson, 83, Ozark, were held in Adams Chapel Oct. 16 with the Rev. Bennie Yount officiating. Burial was in Ozark Cemetery. Mr. Wilson died Oct. 14 in Primrose Place Health Care Center after a long illness. He was a World War I veteran and a graduate of Dewey, Okla. Airplane College. He had accumulated several hours in the air as a pilot and was a certified motor man. Mr. Wilson was a 55-year member and past master of Friend Lodge No. 352 of Ozark. He also previously worked as a plumber. He is survived by several step-cousins.

Pamela Sue Wilson, 56, Springfield, died Sunday, May 8, 2011, in Cox South Hospital, Springfield, surrounded by her family and friends. She was born in Springfield, to Donald and Shirley Helm on May 10, 1954. She married Clarence Wilson on Aug. 12, 1976, and to this union, daughter Tina was born. Pamela enjoyed camping, fishing and being an “Avon Lady” for 30 years. She loved her animals, they were her “babies.” Her parents, grandparents and father-in-law, Victor Wilson, preceded Pamela in death. She is survived by: husband Clarence; a daughter and her husband, Tina and Don Mitchell; a sister, Becky Helm and husband Frank Johnson; mother-in-law, Dorcia Wilson; sister-in-law and husband, Mary and James Jones; brother-in-law and wife, Ralph and Jan Wilson; two nephews; several aunts, uncles and cousins; and very special friends, Lois and Junior Jones. Paul E. Wilson, 75, Knoxville, Ill., died Tuesday, May 30, 1995, at the Cottage Hospital in Galesburg, Ill., of natural causes. He was born Jan. 3, 1920, in Zenra, the son of Parm (Dick) and Ida Clevenger Wilson. On Dec. 23, 1941, he was married to Ruth A. Foote, in Kahoka. He lived in East Galesburg, Ill., where he worked as a carpenter and at the former Rowe Manufacturing Co. He also worked as a custodian at the Knoxville School District #202 and was a member of the West Finley Baptist Church in Zenra. He was preceded in death by one sister, Eula Hill. Survivors include his wife, Ruth, of Knoxville; a son, Steven Wilson, Ozark; four grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. Services were Friday at the Hurd-Hendricks Funeral Home, Knoxville. Burial followed in the Knoxville Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to the Knoxville Fire Department.

Pauline Sellers Wilson was born Nov. 2, 1926, in Douglas County, Mo., the daughter of Bailey and Ethel (Blankenship) Burton and departed this life Aug. 23, 2006, at the age of 79 years, 9 months, and 21 days. Pauline was a life long resident of the Ava area. Pauline earned a college degree with a teaching certificate and was employed and retired from the Division of Family Services in Douglas County after 35 years of service. Pauline loved working on the farm, gardening and fishing. Her delight was being with her family and especially her grandchildren. Pauline and Burl Sellers were united in marriage in Mt. Home, Ark., and to this union two sons were born. On Feb. 22, 1990, Mr. Sellers preceded her in death. On Jan. 31, 1993, Pauline and John Wilson were united in marriage in Douglas County, Missouri, at the Frye Church where Pauline was a member. Pauline was also preceded in death by her parents; one brother, Bill Burton; and a sister, Bertha Haskins. She is survived by her husband, John, of the home, Ava, Mo.; two sons, Steven Sellers, Ava, Mo.; Gregory and TeNeil Sellers, Ozark, Mo.; four grandchildren, Brandon, Stephanie, Bryan, Katrina and soon to be Broderick; two sisters, Dessie Buchanan, and Bernice Steele, both of Ava, Mo.; and a host of other relatives and friends. Pauline Wilson, 67, Rogersville, passed away at 7:51 a.m. Wednesday, December 28, 2005, in Ozark Riverview Manor, Ozark. She was born November 11, 1938, in Seymour, Missouri, the daughter of the late Edgar E. and Opal M. (Townlain) Woodruff. Pauline was a member of First Baptist Church of Rogersville. She was a motor technician with General Electric for 25 years before her retirement. She was also a member of the Eastern Star and enjoyed bowling, dancing, oil painting and flower arranging. She was a loving wife, mother and grandmother. She will be greatly missed by her family. She is survived by three sons, Jimmy Wilson and wife, Maria, Branson; Randy Wilson and wife, Josephine, San Bernardino, Calif.; Ronnie Wilson and wife, Cynthia, Willard; her husband of 25 years, Lewis Wilson, Rogersville; four sisters, Judy Smith and Lois Creson, both of Rogersville; Bertha Oxenreider, Pleasant Hope; Wanda Craig, Springfield; two brothers, Alfred Woodruff, Strafford; Lawrence Woodruff, Springfield; six grandchildren, and many other relatives and friends. Ralph Clayton Wilson, 72, of Rockingham, North Carolina, died at 2 a.m. Feb. 26 at the Duke University Hospital, Durham, N.C. Services for Mr. Wilson were held at 2 p.m. Wednesday in the Harris Chapel, Ozark, with the Rev. Billy Wolfe officiating. A eulogy was delivered by Mr. Wilson's son, Jerry. Burial was in Prospect Cemetery. Mr. Wilson was born near Ozark Jan. 9, 1916, to the marriage of Gus and Ethel (Potter) Wilson. A veteran of the United States Navy, serving during World War II, Mr. Wilson also operated Wilson's Shoe Store in Ozark for several years. He is survived by his wife, Wilma, of the home; one son, Jerry, of San Diego, California; one daughter, Dora Sue Ricketts, of Charlotte, North Carolina; four grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; one sister, Mrs. Dottie Melton, of Mount Vernon; one brother, Clifford Wilson, of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma; arid several nieces and nephews.

Randolph "Grandpa" Woodrow Wilson, 86, Springfield, passed away at 8:50 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 7, 2004, in St. John's Regional Health Center. He was born March 1, 1917, in Pochahontas, Ark., to Caleb J. and Nettie E. Wilson. Randolph was the owner of a small grocery store in Fair Grove in 1940. Randolph wed Virginia Carter, of Springfield, in San Diego, Calif., in 1943. Upon returning to Springfield, he was employed by Rogers and Baldwin Hardware and was later employed by Lily Tulip as a machine mechanic for 29 years, until his retirement in 1981. Randolph was active in earlier years as a Cub Master in Boy Scouts and Sunday School. He had served in later years as a deacon for First Assembly of God, Strafford, where he was a member. His pastimes included hunting, bird watching, genealogy, various collections, and spending time with his family. He is survived by his wife, Virginia Wilson; daughter Judy and her husband Roy Gold, Highlandville; son Randy and his wife Connie, Springfield; four grandchildren, Duncan Gold, Deidre Parish, Eric Wilson, and James Wilson; one great grandchild, Onnika Parish; niece Becky Palmer and her husband Jeff, Marietta, Ga.; brother-in-law Ernest Carter and his wife Clara, Springfield, Mo.; sister-in-law Maxine Carter, Pittsburg; brother Lamar Wilson, Simi Valley, Calif.; and several nieces and nephews. Ricky Allen Wilson, 54, Billings, passed away Wednesday morning, December 3, 2008, in his home, with family at his side. He was born April 16, 1954, in Springfield, Missouri, the son of Loren John and Vivian Irene (Schalf) Wilson. Rick was in the U.S. Navy, and retired from the U.S. Navy Reserves after 22 years of service to his country. He was united in marriage to Teresa L. Fletcher on April 29, 1975, and to this union were blessed with two daughters, Karen and Toni. Rick was a member of the First Baptist Church of Billings, the VFW #69, FRA #316, and a past member of the Sea Cadets in Springfield, and Teamsters #955. He had been an over the road trucker for 20 years, and a Republic Police Officer for six years. His parents; a brother, Bob Wilson; and an infant sister, Rose, preceded Rick in death. He is survived by his wife of 33 years, Teresa of the home; two daughters, Karen Rohlman and husband, Brian, Republic, and Toni Maulorico, Nixa; four grandchildren; a brother, Randy Wilson, Billings; three sisters, Ann Marquart and Sandy Mathis, both of Republic, and Mary Beth Johnson, Springfield; and many other relatives and friends. Robert R. Wilson of Billings, Mo., was born Aug. 10, 1920, and passed away May 23, 2004, at Christian Health Care Center in Republic. He was the beloved husband of Alma R. Wilson; father of daughter and son-in-law Pamela and Robert Plough, and a son, Alan Alldridge; grandfather of James and Angie Chilcher, and Rocco and Kimberly Gallo; and great-grandfather of Paige and Conner Gallo. Rodney was married to Cheryl Sheridan of Crane, MO on March 30, 1996. Rodney and Cheryl have two children, Tenaya Raquel Wilson, age 12, and Rodney Wayne Wilson, Jr., age 10. The loved ones Rodney left behind include his wife and two children; parents Benny and Sharlot Wilson of Crane, MO; brothers Ben Wilson, Jr. and family, and Randall Wilson and family, all of Crane, MO, and Michael Wilson and family of Republic, MO; and sisters Shana Baker and family of Nixa, MO, and Rachel Parsons and family of Crane, MO. Ronald Joe Wilson, age 48 of Galena, passed away Friday, September 13, 2002 in his home. He was born October 21, 1953 in Humansville, Missouri, the son of Roy and Betty Jo Wilson. His parents preceded him in death. He was a self-employed roofer. Mr. Wilson was a member of Riverdale Baptist Church. He was also an active member of CMSA, Missouri Outlaws. Survivors include his wife, Theresa; seven children, Des tiny and Brittany Wilson, both of the home, Melissa Wilson and Ronnie Wilson, both of Washington state, Charles Wilson and his wife, Sonya of Ponce de Leon, Timothy Wilson and his wife, Amy of Highlandville, and William Wilson of Branson; five grandchildren, Whitney, Kaitlyn and Harley Wilson, and Jennifer and Joey Lenz; two brothers, Donnie Wilson of Clever, and David Wilson of Rockaway Beach; and many other relatives and friends. Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Monday, September 16 in Riverdale Baptist Church, south of Nixa, with Pastor Tommy Bilyeu officiating. Burial will follow in Glenn Cemetery. Rose Mae Eutsler was born in Kansas, April 26, 1879, and departed this life at her home two miles southwest of Clever May 27, 1931, at the age of 52 years, 1 month and 1 day. She was married to Henry B. Wilson, March 13, 1903. Two years later they adopted a daughter, Mabel. She also had the care of two nieces, Paulina Mitchell and Viva Daugherty. She was converted at an early age and at the time of her death was a member of the Brown Springs Baptist church. She is survived by the husband, the adopted daughter, Mrs. Mabel Ebersold, one sister, Nellie Wilson, of Galena; three brothers, Randolph Eutsler of Crane; Charley Eutsler of Webb City and Dan Harding, also of Webb City, besides other relatives and a host of friends. Funeral services were held Friday, May 29, at one pm, at the Brown Springs Baptist church with Rev. Robert Baker of Springfield officiating. Burial was made in the Marionville cemetery under the direction of Wilburn Maples Funeral Home of Clever.

Roy Clifford Wilson, son of Arthur Alonzo and Stella Delarm Allen Wilson, was born October 24, 1917, near Conway, in Laclede County, Mo. He departed this life Wednesday, April 27, 2005, in St. John's Regional Health Center, in Springfield, following a short, but courageous battle with pulmonary lung disease, at the age of 87 years, 6 months, and 3 days. On December 20, 1941, he was united in marriage to Dorothy Marie Peters, and in 1956, a son, Danny, became a joyful addition to their family. Dorothy passed away in 1959. On July 24, 1961, he married Norma Jean Tribble, and to this union two daughters were born. He also was preceded in death by his parents; three brothers, Leonard, Frank, and Charles Wilson; and a sister, Venus Howerton. Roy is survived by his loving wife of 43 years, Norma, of the home; a son, Danny Wilson, and his wife, Christi, Phillipsburg; two daughters, Regina Henson, Springfield, and Renita Randall, and her husband, Steve, Ozark; five grandchildren, Brandon, Lauren, and Jeremy Wilson, all of Phillipsburg, and Shelby and Samuel Randall, of Ozark; two sisters, Nellie Tucker, Lebanon, and Maudie Howerton, and her husband, James, Phillipsburg; several nieces and nephews; and many other relatives and friends. He was born and raised in the Conway area and attended Twilight School and Conway High School. He then served his country faithfully in the U.S. Army's 34th Infantry, during World War II. He was initially stationed at Camp Claiborne, LA, and was then shipped to Fort Dix, N.J. upon the bombing of Pearl Harbor. Roy also served his country at various overseas duty stations. After he was honorably discharged from the Army, he returned to Missouri, and made his home in the Phillipsburg area. Besides being a respected farmer, he was also a member of the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers. He and Norma had made their home in Nixa, for the last few years. Roy had made his profession of faith in Christ and was a loyal and faithful member of the Phillipsburg Christian Church. He also belonged to the V.F.W. Post in Ozark. In his spare time he enjoyed fishing, going to garage sales, visiting, good food, and having his family around him. He was a staunch Republican and always supported their platform. He and Norma greatly enjoyed spending time with family and friends around a campfire at their Table Rock Lakeside property. Roy was a loving husband, father, grandfather, brother, and uncle, and was a caring neighbor and friend. We celebrate his life and his accomplishments, and will treasure the memories he created for his family and friends. Roy's family wishes to convey many thanks to three special grandchildren, Brandon, Jeremy and Lauren for their dedication to Roy, and especially to Lauren for her loving care of Roy in his final days. They also send a special thanks to all the staff of St. John's Regional Health Center in Springfield for taking such wonderful care of Roy. Services are 2 p.m. Sunday, May 1, 2005, in the Phillipsburg Christian Church with Roger Tribble, Rick Howerton, and Jack Ward officiating, under the direction of Holman-Howe Funeral Home of Lebanon. Rufus F. "Doc" Wilson, D.O., 82, Nixa, died suddenly Sunday night, June 2, 1991, at Cox Medical Center South, Springfield, of an apparent heart attack. Rufus Franklin Wilson was born April 12, 1909, in Wapella, Ill. He was a 1943 graduate of Kirksville College of Osteopathic Medicine. He practiced medicine for 46 years, first at Fair Play, then Eminence, before moving to Nixa in 1958. He retired in 1989. He was a charter member of the first "Flying Doctors" organized in Missouri. The group helped popularize the importance of air transportation in the medical field. He served as president of the Ozark District Osteopathic Association in the 1940s. He served as coroner of Shannon County from 1951 to 1958. He was an active member of the Nixa Christian Church for 31 years, where he had served as deacon and trustee. He belonged to Friend Lodge No. 352 in Ozark, Scottish Rite Valley of Joplin, York Rite, Bolivar, Abou Adhem Temple, Springfield, and Eastern Star, Ozark Chapter No. 98. He was a member and past rajah of the Christian County Shrine Club. He is survived by his wife of 41 years, Alma; his son, Joe, and his wife, Kim, Spokane; his daughter, Louise McPeek, Kansas City; his stepson, Gary Murray, and his wife, Macanna, Nixa; his stepdaughter, Dr. Evelyn Ruth Sconce, Dallas, Texas; his brother, Warren W. Wilson, D.O., Sparta; eight grandchildren, Tommy Wilson, Lebanon; Meghaan, Joseph and Preslee Wilson, Spokane; Jeff Sconce, Madison, Wisc.; and Scott, Jason and Mindy Murray, Nixa; and several nieces and nephews. Memorial services were Wednesday afternoon in Nixa Christian Church, with the Rev. William Malotte officiating. The body has been cremated under the direction of Greenlawn Funeral Home South. Memorial contributions may be made to Nixa Christian Church.

Funeral services for S. A. “Bert” Wilson, 62, who died Wednesday afternoon, February 23, at his home near Selmore, were held Friday afternoon at the Selmore Baptist church, of which he was a member, with Rev. Lynn Swadley officiating. Burial was in the Selmore cemetery under direction of the Chaffin Funeral Home of Ozark. In 1904 he was united in marriage to Miss Dora Melton and to this union were born six children. Mrs. Wilson and three children preceded him in death. He was a long time farmer and resident of the Ozark community. Survivors include one son, Wilbur of the home and two daughters, Mrs. Stanley Pruitt also of the home and Mrs. Frank White, Rt. 1, Ozark; one sister, Mrs. F. L. Sherri Wilson, 51, Billings, died at 5:21 p.m. Aug. 21, 2003, in St. John's Regional Health Center, Springfield. She was born Dec. 15, 1951, in Springfield, the daughter of Herbert and Velta (Gaddy) Sims. She was united in marriage to Randy Wilson on May 31, 1969, in Republic. She was a member of the South Campbell Avenue Baptist Church. She was a wonderful homemaker, and a special wife, mother, grandmother, and sister. She was preceded in death by her parents.  Survivors include her husband, Randy, of the home; a son and his wife, Bruce and Cathy Wilson, Republic; a daughter and her husband, Amanda and Jeffrey Barrickman, Spokane; four grandchildren, Alex, Makayla, and Wyatt Wilson, and Morgan Barrickman; a brother, Larry Sims and wife Brenda, Billings; three sisters, Joann Batson and husband Danny, Republic, Linda McMillan, Springfield, and Gaylene Brown and husband Kenny, Crane; and nieces and nephews. Thomas B. Wilson, 77, a lifelong resident of eastern Christian County, died last Friday in the Missouri State Chest Hospital in Mount Vernon after a two-year illness. He was a retired farmer. Surviving are two brothers, Virgil and Frederick, both of Sparta and four sisters, Mrs. Willie Hall, Springfield, Mrs. Clesta Holt, Olympia, Wash., Mrs. Viola Bloomer, Kansas City, Kan. and Mrs. Lura Horner, state of Washington. Services were held Monday in Harris Chapel with the Rev. Fred Goodall officiating. Burial was in Mills Cemetery in Douglas County.

Vernia Helen Wilson was born April 30, 1906 and departed this life November 5, 1940 at the age of 34 years, six months and five days. She was the daughter of J.H. and Sadie Fugitt. She is survived by her husband, Marvin Wilson, and two children, John A. and Jeraline, of the home; her father, J.H. Fugitt and five sisters, Mrs. Lila Willoughby, Mrs. Bertha Gilmore and Mrs. Jimmie Peebles of Clever, Mrs. Carrie Fugitt of Springfield and Mrs. Edna Gideon of Brookline. She was preceded in death by a daughter, Betty Jane, her mother and one sister, Dora Fugitt, and one brother, Virgil Fugitt. Vernia was converted at an early age and united with the Union Ridge Baptist church. She has lived in Stone county all her life and is well known and loved by a host of relatives and friends. Vernia will be greatly missed by the community of Hurley where she has lived for the past five years. Funeral services were held at 2 pm Wednesday in the Union Ridge Baptist church conducted by Rev. Harold Meritt with burial there under the direction of the Wilburn Maples Funeral Home of Clever.

Vesta A. Hicks Wilson, 85, Nixa, passed away at 7 a.m. Friday, Dec. 10, 2004, at Christian Health Care, Nixa. She was born Nov. 3, 1919, in Brown Springs, Mo., to Oscar and Ida (Medlin) Gryder. She was united in marriage to Darrel Hicks June 2, 1940. They lived and raised their two sons in the Boaz area. They owned and operated the Boaz General Store for nine years during the 60s. They enjoyed 48 years of marriage before Darrel passed away July 8, 1988. She married Leo Wilson July 23, 1994. Leo was a loving and faithful companion to Vesta throughout her illnesses the last few years. Vesta was formerly employed in the fabric department at Turners Department Store in Springfield and she was a charter member of the Fremont Hills Baptist Church. One of her favorite pastimes was checking out flea markets, garage sales and auctions. Her parents; a brother, Raymond Gryder; and a niece, Cindy Davis, also preceded her in death. She is survived by her husband, Leo, of the home; two sons, Rick Hicks, Billings, and Rudy Hicks and wife Susan, Boaz; a stepdaughter, Linda Cook, Billings; four grandchildren, Shannon and Bret Hicks, Tiffany Stevens, and Angela Wilson; four great-grandchildren; four step grandchildren; eight step great-grandchildren; two step great-great-grandchildren ; other relatives; and many friends. Virgil Lewis Wilson, 85, Sparta, died Monday, Dec. 26, 1994, in St. John's Regional Health Center. He was born April 14, 1909 at Witty, the son of John Leanders and Nancy Jane Brumley Wilson. On Dec. 30, 1933 he was united in marriage to Bessie Lorraine Hall. He was a retired farmer. He was preceded in death by his parents; an infant son; two brothers; and five sisters. SPARTA - Warren W. Wilson, D.O., 93, Sparta, passed away at 9:40 a.m. Friday, Dec. 2, 1994, in Mount Vernon Veterans' Home. Dr. Wilson was born in Des Moines, Iowa, the son of Joseph Oscar and Minnie Mae Seniff Wilson. Following an enlistment in the Marine Corps with service in Cuba, he attended the University of Illinois, Champaign-Urbana, and in 1930, graduated from Kirksville College of Osteopathic Medicine. He was married to Bennett Harding Tyler in 1936 in Henderson, N.C., with whom he had two children, Deborah Mae and John Pittman. He was married to Annie Chloe Ailor Simpson in 1949 and they had one daughter, Jennifer: In 1939, Dr. Wilson opened his office in Sparta where he practiced for over 50 Years before retiring.  Dr. Wilson was initiated in Sparta Masonic Lodge No. 296 on June 2, 1942. He was a Master Mason for 52 years, serving as Worshipful Master in 1945 and 1955. He was a member of Sparta Chapter No. 326, Order of Eastern Star, Scottish

Funeral services for Wayne M. (Bob) Wilson, 54 for the Hurley Community, were at 3 p.m. Sunday in Harris Chapel at Nixa, with the Rev. Frank Eaton officiating. Burial was in Wright Cemetery. Mr. Wilson died at 5:30 a.m. Friday, Oct. 20, at his home after a two year’s illness. Survivors include his wife, Lela; two daughters, Miss Sharlis Ann Wilson, Independence, Mrs.. Donna Eutsler, Hurley; four sons, Jackie Wilson, Springfield, Jerry Wilson of the home, Ronnie Wilson, Ozark, Kenny Wilson, Mt. Vernon; a brother, Carl Wilson, Republic; his mother, Mrs. Oma Wilson, Springfield; and eight grandchildren.
