Miss Carla Mueller, 14, granddaughter of the Woodall couple is in satisfactory condition. The tragedy occurred in a  straightaway portion of the highway when Woodall, northbound, pulled into the opposite lane to pass and the opposite lane to pass and struck the Vidan auto headon.

Two Ozark women were seriously injured at 1:00 p.m. Tuesday when their auto was forced off the road by another auto on the James river hill as they were enroute to Springfield. Listed in “Fair” condition art St. John’s after being taken off the “critical” list is Mrs. Edward Ridenour, 50, of Ozark, the driver. She is recovering from fractures of both legs and her right elbow, internal injuries and facial lacerations. Her sister, Mrs. George Brock, 54, is still listed in “serious” condition, suffering from chest injuries, facial lacerations, and fractures to the ankle, wrist, shoulder, hip and knee. The Ridenour vehicle skidded off the road and crashed into the rock bluff, and it was forced from the highway. The offending driver was not apprehended. It is hoped the highway department and the highway patrol will take note of the rapidly increasing number of mishaps on this section of the highway, due to heavy traffic and do something quickly to alleviate the situation.
